How to Minimize the Risk of Replacing a Faucet Cartridge

Whether you own a brand new faucet or have a vintage faucet with a decades-old cartridge, you'll likely find yourself having to replace the faucet cartridge at some point. And while replacing the faucet cartridge isn't something you can't avoid, there are several things you can do to help minimize the risk of damage to your faucet.

Compared to rubber washers, ceramic discs for faucet cartridges last longer. They can last up to a few years before needing to be replaced. They also aren't susceptible to wear and tear like rubber washers are.
